Crawl Space Encapsulation
What Is Crawl Space Encapsulation?
Up to 50% of the air in your house can stream in from your crawl space. Moisture in the crawl space can cause air quality issues and odors. Adding a crawl space vapor barrier can increase indoor air quality and keep your home warmer in the winter.
Water Extraction Experts encapsulate a crawl space by sealing it with a water vapor barrier (usually a heavy-duty polyethylene barrier) to effectively contain any moisture seeping in from the floor and foundation walls.
Why should you encapsulate your crawl space?
We hear from a lot of our customers who choose to put a water vapor barrier in their crawl space to reduce musty odors in their home. However, there are health risks often associated with a damp crawl space, such as mold, air quality, and fungi. Structural damage, such as wood rot, can also be a problem and negatively impact the value of your property. By encapsulating your crawl space, you also regain this space for storage.
Our Process for Encapsulating
your Crawl Space
- Call us for a FREE inspection. We’ll assess your crawl space and make sure it’s ready for encapsulation.
- Prior to encapsulation will address any excess moisture issues, take measurements and make sure the area is ready for placement of the water vapor barrier.
- Our certified technicians will begin placing the water vapor barrier. We’ll cut the water vapor barrier to the specific measurements of your crawl space to ensure adequate overlap and no gaps are present.
- If your crawl space needs further humidity control, we may recommend the placement of a dehumidifier.
Rodent Removal & Eradication
Unfortunately, living in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico also means mice and voles are part of life. However, you DON’T have to live with them in your home.
When we’re doing crawl space encapsulation or any other restoration service, we can remove and help eradicate rodent problems. Nobody wants to have rodents in their home…we understand and we can help.

The most important part for me was for the Water Extraction Experts (WEE) was to come out and see the severe damage.
Well Matt and team had an immediate plan, and it was laid out in full.
When, I said "yes" I was guided from day one, until the end. The team came in and did their job well, and as clean as one could be. Also, they worked and were never in my way, they just kept going forward. The most polite people to work with and talk to. But as I said, I knew the process everyday, and when I had to leave for a doctor's appointment, they had an outside lock box for me to come back in."GREAT JOB"!!!
Since, I am severely handicapped, and on a fixed income. I was afraid of ever following through, because I was afraid of the price I would be given, which I dreaded. THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM HERE. The job that was done, seems to me that it was twice the value than they charged me.
Excellent, high end materials and craftsmanship.
From when they started until now seeing the final product is amazing. Being on oxygen 24/7 and seeing the completed job, just fills my heart with joy!!!
"The value of work performed looks comparable to a job that would have cost us double." The job was considerably big, and the quality, fit, and finish, was mind-blowing.
