Spotlight On John Sexton: Restoration Technician
John is originally from San Diego and moved to New Mexico 27 years ago. He is married with 3 children, 2 boys ages 4 and 10 and one 8-year-old girl. His family enjoys activities that give them the opportunity to spend time together. John and his wife create bonding exercises to strengthen their relationship and making tamales is one of the many things they do. (I hear the tamales are delicious!) Another very important member of his family is his grandfather who, in order to never forget his own anniversary, chose the opening day of deer season for his wedding day. A very wise man indeed!
John is a man of many talents. For one, he likes to tinker around in his workshop. His hobbies are woodworking and fishing at Lake Heron, Corkins Lodge, and Red River. He adds, “I would really love to go on a fishing excursion in Alaska”.
Before John came to work for us, he had his own business doing full home remodels. His experience has been very beneficial to our company. He has been with Water Extraction Experts for 4 months and has already brought so much knowledge to the team.
He says, “I enjoy the reconstruction part of the job. It gives me the opportunity to use skills from past experience. Building new homes is what I really love to do but my roots lie in remodeling. I got my start as a trim carpenter doing windows and doors, cabinetry, flooring and eventually I started framing.”
He adds, “Diversification is what makes working for Water Extraction Experts unique. You can go in there with a small water damage problem and the next thing you know, you are taking down drywall and containing an area due to mold. Every day and every job is a new adventure.”
